Set Log Date & Entered For

As of version 5, the Time Tracking Application no longer sets the Created Date and Created By fields on Time Tracking Summary records. Instead, the Log Date and Entered For custom fields are set.

Click the Set Log Date & Entered For button on the App Upgrades page to execute a batch job that copies the Created Date field value to the Log Date field and copies the Created By field value to the Entered For field on existing Time Tracking Summary records with blank custom fields.

Update your Existing Data

  1. In the App launcher type “App Upgrades”

Information about this Data Change

Log Date replaces Created Date

The Time Tracking Application no longer sets the Created Date field on Time Tracking Summary records. Instead, the custom Log Date field is set.

  1. The Stopwatch component now sets Log Date equal to the current date when Time Tracking Summary records are created.

  2. In the Batch Entry component, the Start Time column/input field was replaced with the Log Date column/input field.

  3. The Easy Calendar component now sets Log Date equal to the calendar date for the record when Time Tracking Summary records are created.

  4. The Mange User Capacities component now organizes data based on Log Date, not Created Date.

  5. References to the Time Tracking Summary object’s Created Date field were replaced with Log Date in the following Reports:

    1. Active Time Tracking

    2. Billable Time By User

    3. Internal Costing by Account

    4. Task Time Tracking Report

    5. Time by Day

    6. Time By User This Month

  6. Log Date has been added to Field Sets and Search Layouts.

Entered For replaces Created By

The Time Tracking Application no longer sets the Created By field on Time Tracking Summary records. Instead, the custom Entered For field is set.

  1. The Stopwatch component now sets Entered For equal to the current user when Time Tracking Summary records are created.

  2. The Batch Entry component now sets Entered For equal to the current user when Time Tracking Summary records are created.

  3. The Mange User Capacities component now organizes data based on Entered For, not Created By.

  4. References to the Time Tracking Summary object’s Created By field were replaced with Entered For in the following Reports:

    1. Active Time Tracking

    2. Billable Time By User

    3. Internal Costing by Account

    4. Time by Day

    5. Time By User This Month

  5. References to the Time Tracking Summary object’s Created By field were replaced with Entered For in the following List Views on the Time Tracking Summary object:

    1. Last 7 Days

    2. Open Time Tracking Records

  6. Entered For has been added to Field Sets and Search Layouts.
