Restrict Second Records to the Account in Batch Entry

Overview

You can restrict records in the Second Lookup field in Batch Entry so that only records related to the selected Account record appear as options.

Top: Opportunities related to the selected Account can be selected.
Bottom: Opportunities related to another Account (“Edge Communications”) cannot be selected.

Walkthrough

Follow the below steps to restrict records in the Second Lookup field in Batch Entry so that only records related to the selected Account record appear as options.

Create Custom Metadata records

When Batch Entry is configured to restrict Second Lookup records based on the selected Account, Batch Entry uses Second Record to Account Mapping Custom Metadata records to match the Second Lookup records to the selected Account.

Select checkbox in Time Tracking Settings

After the Second Record to Account Mapping Custom Metadata records have been created, the next step is to select the Restrict Second Records to Account checkbox on the Time Tracking How To & Set Up page:

  1. Navigate to the Time Tracking How To & Set Up page.

  2. In the Time Tracking Settings section, select the Restrict Second Records to Account checkbox.

  3. Click Save.
