Considerations when restricting records in the Second Lookup field
Contents
Overview
This document lists considerations related to restricting Second Lookup fields based on the selected Account in the Stopwatch, Easy Calendar, and Batch Entry.
Stopwatch, Easy Calendar, and Batch Entry use the same setting
If you select the Restrict Second Records to Account checkbox on the Time Tracking How To & Set Up page, the Second Lookup fields in the Stopwatch, Easy Calendar, and Batch Entry are all restricted based on the selected Account. There isn’t a separate setting for each component.
You cannot restrict Second Records and Autofill/Hide the Account
If you select the Restrict Second Records to Account checkbox on the Time Tracking How To & Set Up page, you can’t also select Autofill Account: Batch Entry/Easy Cal. or Hide Account: Batch Entry/Easy Calendar. The features are mutually exclusive.
Multiple features use the Custom Metadata records
Second Record to Account Mapping Custom Metadata records are used for the Restrict Second Records to Account feature as well as the Hide/Autofill Account features.
Lookup Filters
If you select the Restrict Second Records to Account checkbox on the Time Tracking How To & Set Up page, Lookup Filters on the Second Lookup field are not applied to search results. The only filtering performed is to restrict records based on the selected Account.
When records are saved to the Salesforce database, Lookup Filter validations are applied and can block the save operation if the Lookup Filter criteria are not met.
Instant Results are not shown
If you select the Restrict Second Records to Account checkbox on the Time Tracking How To & Set Up page, Instant Results are not available in the Second Lookup field. Matching records appear when you start typing in the field.
Only the record’s name is searched
If you select the Restrict Second Records to Account checkbox on the Time Tracking How To & Set Up page, the search for matching records is conducted on the name field of the target object.
Time Tracking is built by Fostering and powered by Salesforce.
